The lodge, an 800-square-foot single elevated story structure, provides an immersive overnight giraffe experience. The design focuses on enhancing the visitor experience with exceptional views of the savannah habitats, allowing guests to observe giraffes up close. SmithDish Architecture designed the lodge structure, and WestEast's scope included interior elements such as furniture, lighting, equipment, rugs, and accessories. Additionally, the project encompassed curating an outdoor deck with furnishings, identifying art locations, preparing cost estimates, and developing a comprehensive look book

The design methodology aimed to create a savannah-style atmosphere that complements the African grasslands and maximizes the guest experience. This involved selecting materials and furnishings that reflect the natural textures and colors of the savannah. The design process focused on optimizing the layout for the best possible views of the wildlife, incorporating both indoor and outdoor spaces seamlessly. Special attention was given to the outdoor deck, which was furnished to enhance the overall experience. Lighting and art choices were made to evoke the essence of the savannah, while detailed cost estimates and a look book were developed to guide the design and implementation.

The completed lodge features a king-sized bedroom and a living kitchenette, all set in a savannah-inspired aesthetic that combines luxury with a deep connection to the surrounding environment. The addition of the outdoor deck, furnished to complement the interior design, provides guests with an enhanced way to engage with the African grasslands. The design successfully marries comfort and thematic elements, ensuring a unique and memorable stay where guests can fully appreciate the wildlife and the natural beauty of the savannah.
