The Project

OneRise aims to establish an innovative behavioral healthcare campus in South central Kansas. Spanning across 70 acres, this state-of-the-art facility will provide a comprehensive approach to addressing mental health care and substance abuse needs in Wichita and the surrounding region. With a focus on trauma-informed design, the architecture of OneRise goes beyond mere functionality to actively promote healing and overall wellbeing for individuals seeking assistance.

The Methodology

OneRise's Master Plan design process began with stakeholder engagement and collaboration. WestEast conducted meetings to understand community needs and identify service gaps. Drawing inspiration from successful precedents like the Haven for Hope Campus, our multidisciplinary team developed a master plan that integrates various facilities to address the city's needs. Security and accessibility were prioritized in the design to ensure a safe environment.

The Result

Once built, OneRise will be an ecosystem that promotes social interaction and community wellbeing. The 10.2-acre park serves as the heart of the campus, fostering communal activities. Open spaces near the entrance encourage engagement with the surrounding area. Biophilic design elements and a connection to nature enhance healing and wellbeing. OneRise represents an innovative approach to partnership and collaboration, offering a safe and restorative environment for individuals seeking assistance.
