WestEast, in collaboration with IKEA U.S., has developed and unveiled a “Tiny Home” designed to offer safe, stable housing for elderly individuals experiencing homelessness. This initiative highlights the needs of an often-overlooked population, recognizing that older adults who have endured trauma and housing instability deserve a supportive environment where they can feel secure.
By incorporating Trauma-Informed Design principles, the project aims to create a space that fosters healing and restores a sense of belonging for residents. Our mission is to ensure that these individuals, who have experienced challenging conditions, now have a dignified and compassionate place to call home. We are proud that architecture has allowed us to positively impact lives and provide a foundation for hope and stability for years to come.
